Home Ride is a bus service designed for college students so our schedule
fits your needs. Generally, we leave JMU on Friday afternoons and return
on Sunday nights. We also make special runs for Thanksgiving,
Christmas and Spring break, to fit the university calendar.
All trips start from and return to the JMU Bookstore. Our buses stop
along the sidewalk between the Bookstore building and Godwin Hall.
Our stop in Northern Virginia is in the south parking lot of the Vienna
Metro Station. In Charlottesville, we stop at the Student Activities
Building at UVA; in Richmond, at the James Cabell Library at VCU;
in Hampton, near the Outback Steakhouse at Peninsula Town Center Mall.
Going north, we leave JMU at 3:00 PM, 5:00 PM, and/or 7:00 PM Fridays
and arrive at Vienna at 5:00 PM, 7:00 PM, and/or 9:00 PM. We do not run
at all three times on our less-busy weekends, so please call to ask
about specific dates. The return trip leaves Vienna at 5:30 PM
Sunday and reaches JMU at 7:30 PM.
Going east, we leave JMU at 3:00 PM most Fridays and reach Charlottesville
at 4:15 PM, Richmond at 6:00 PM, and Hampton at 7:30 PM. The return trip
leaves Hampton at 4:30 PM Sunday, Richmond at 6:00 PM, Charlottesville at
7:30 PM, and arrives back at JMU at 9:00 PM.
